Christmas Adventures

Hope everybody had a good christmas. Ours was alot of fun. The kids didn't get up until 7:30 so that was nice. They opened presents. Brayden would just open a present and then look for another one with his name, then once they were all open he decided to see what he got. We made pancakes then got ready to head up north. It was snowing a little but not bad. We figured we would go to Jays parents house then Zach had to go with his mom at 1 then at 5 we would go see my Dad and Mick and her parents, they always have a fun get together in bountiful. Then we would head home. So the kids had fun at grandma and grandpa Estes house then Zach left and we played games it kindof just rained on and off all day. So at 4 we decided to head for bountiful. The roads wern't bad at all so we made good time. We got there earlier than everyone else so we were able to exchange gifts without being in the way. Anyway we ate and visited around 7 we decided we better get going in case it was snowing. Too late it was. It didn't look terrible so we were on our way. By North Salt Lake we knew we were in for a long night. A truck flew by us only to start spinning out of control about a mile ahead of us. Jay couldn't hit the brakes of course because we would do the same thing. Luckily the car next to us was able to move over so we could do the same and we were able to miss them. By 33rd south we had seen probably 5 other cars slid off so we decided to get off the road and get a motel. The Holiday Inn express wanted 150 dollars for a room, so we decided to keep going, it just continued to get worse so we pulled off at 7200 s and stayed at the motel 6. I don't know if any of you have ever stayed at one of those but they definately are not the nicest but we figured it was better than a hospital room. The kids thought it was great, They jumped on the bed and watched tv, then we went to Denny's for Breakfast then headed home. The roads still wern't great but much better than the night before. It will be a Christmas my kids will always remember! The pictures are the boys jumping on the bed at the motel, we didn't have any extra clothes not that my boys wear pj's very often anyway, then Mav and the boys and the Boys christmas Eve.

Wow, I didn't realize that you guys had such a rough time going home on Christmas! Although I can't say I'm surprised, that was a crazy storm. Luckily we didn't have to drive too far. Good call to just stop and wait it out till morning. I'm sure the boys had a great time, I used to love staying in hotels when I was a kid!

By the way, don't you find out what you're having soon? Like today maybe? You need to update us all!
